Most of us have probably been taught to have certain thoughts. Our goal is always to find the “right” answers. Our success is often determined by our ability to memorize information provided in textbooks and from teachers. Students that take divergent approaches to problems are hardly ever rewarded. This style of teaching promotes convergent thinking; the concept that there is one correct answer to a problem.
