Since conflicts in mythology are often outlandish, one may easily imagine them as the focus of a contemporary television talk show. This assignment requires students to consider mythological plot, conflict, and characterization and demonstrate comprehension through a creative, collaborative writing exercise and performance.
This is a creative exercise designed to
1. have students demonstrate an understanding of a myth’s central themes and conflicts
2. have students analyze and imitate elements of characterization in a myth
3. have students present all of the above in a coherent and creative fashion, thereby aiding others in future recall efforts
