This lesson is highly effective at getting reluctant writers to write because the lesson focuses on quality of writing over quantity of writing. Equally, this lesson provides a range of opportunities to stretch your most able learners. This lesson is teachable across a full range of age groups, but is especially designed for middle and high school students. It draws on social and emotional topics and uses continuous self and peer assessment throughout the lesson. This is one of my absolute 'go to's' to improve writing with my teaching groups. This resource includes a lesson plan and under observation was marked as 'outstanding'.
