These simple grids can be used for a wide variety of Creativity Exercises, but my favorite is to just hand them out, lets students choose their own media, put on some music, and let then do what ever they want on the pages. You will find that they interpret the patterns as maps, windows, comic narrative panels, boxes on a shelf, and dozens more ideas that you never even thought of. This can be a great way to fill an unexpectedly free 15 minutes too.
Praise them thoroughly, and display the class favorites.
