This subject is very important in this day and time. We all must learn and apply Credit worthiness, our consumer rights and how to be financially responsible to our lives. High School is where we must start, after High School and during College life gets real. Completion of this course students will fully understand:
a. how consumers can contribute to a better economy
b. create, build, and manage good credit
c. debt management; to reduce and payoff various debts, and debt counseling
d. understand the importance of the Stock Market and it's role in the economic health
f. economic crisis; why recessions happen, who and how the economy is effected during a financial crisis
g. prepare for retirement; saving, 401k , and IRA
h. maintain a strong business; paydex score, lines of credit, accounting, financial management
i. save, invest, and budget money wisely
j. know your consumer rights enforced by the FTC (Federal Trade Commission)
k. understand student loans and repayment options
l. awareness of the credit bureaus and their role in consumer credit
m. business and personal credit; the difference, your rights, how to separate the two
n. understand why taxpayers pay taxes, where the money goes, the various taxes some consumers pay, and filing options
o. due bills; how to budget, organize, and reduce
p. understand credit insurance, how to apply, policies, and when to take advantage of them.

This course can be minimized into a semester. If you take notice to how students will be graded you will see the credit scoring system. Which will allow students to understand the importance of credit and easily apply their knowledge to real life. Course created by Sophia Alford in 2009.
