My economics novel, Striker Jones
, is also a mystery. So, here’s a free mystery writing activity outside of my usual economics offerings that I like to run at children’s writing workshops and school visits.
In this activity, students will write their own mysteries after observing an in-class crime scene. You will hold a class discussion on the essential elements of a mystery. Then kids will observe the scene, taking note of clues, and then write their own mysteries. The lesson plan includes some leading questions to help kids think of their stories.
I hope you enjoy this fun writing activty!
