Product Description
With my post-secondary and upper secondary (11th grade) students, I devote several weeks to teaching persuasion while also incorporating media literacy. The evolution of filmmaking has allowed average, everyday people to "voice" their opinions, showcase their lives, share their hardships, celebrate their accomplishments, investigate controversies, etc. through the lens of a camera. These ten questions accompany Michael Moore's documentary, "Capitalism: A Love Story" and are meant not only to guide students in identifying the filmmaker's purpose/message but also to engage them in identifying bias, modes of persuasion, and specific persuasive techniques as well.
