Sometimes it is difficult to get students to be critical thinkers. Here is a list of words that my students come across on daily assignments. I normally get asked what "distinguish" or 'infer" means when they are assigned classwork. To make sure that all students are understanding what these words are meaning, I go over them with the students at the beginning of the year. This way they have a list of them with what they mean. Some of these words come from questions that are fairly easy to answer, look them up in the book. They gradually add more critical thinking skills the further down the list you go. Students that are able to answer questions that are asked with these words can become great critical thinkers.
