Used in a 'three-part' format, students during this lesson explore the concept of circle graphs as well as exploring the social justice issue of Discrimination. Students are able to explore the concept of designing circle graphs using angles and tools to effectively create them. During this lesson, students will develop their understanding of Discrimination topics, specifically Racial Profiling as referenced in the Toronto Star's expose on the department. The lesson embeds inquiry based practices, critical thinking skills (decoding a puzzle), and accountable talk strategies (descriptive feedback using criteria).

Includes the hand out for students along with the lesson plan used to guide students throughout the problem. The task aligns with the Ontario curriculum's Achievement Chart for Mathematics (Easily adaptable to other areas such as Common Core).
