Welcome to Cognition Valley High!
While you are here, you will get to meet many of the “Cognition Valley” students! Decide what they are doing, saying and thinking. It’s up to you to use the visual and written cues in each of the scenarios to help you make good inferences.
Use the included visual aid and graphic organizer to assist you in formulating your inferences. These charts can be used with this inferencing activity or be applied to any exercises involving the inferencing process.
**All graphics used are full color, real-life photos!! Photos include current-day and multi-culture depictions!
You will find nine pages of inferencing scenarios in which you will answer inferencing questions and create a title for the picture. Use the information you gather from the question cues to complete the inferencing sentence.
In section two, “Tell Me a Story,” you will use the picture prompts and question cues to help you infer what is happening in each picture. Remember, the pictures follow a sequence and your inferencing responses should follow a coherent/cohesive storyline. (4 pages included)
In section three, “Complete the Story,” you will use the picture prompts and question cues to help you infer what is happening in each picture. Then, draw a third picture and add a written description of your own to complete the story sequence. (5 pages included)
