In this activity, students analyze 4 made up budgets for their effectiveness. They act as financial advisers to give advice for improving each budget. Suggested writing prompts are provided.
An additional modification for this activity could include teacher or students creating people or scenarios to match with each budget. This could then be used to show that different situations require different thinking when dealing with budgets. For example, the same exact budget that is good for a single mother of 4 would not be good for a married couple.
