This is a game for your students to practice reading short i words. It can be played by 2 or more people, and would be perfect for a small skills group or a literacy center.
The game includes title page, directions page, 108 short i words (including CVC, double consonants, blends, and digraphs), a set of blank cards to add your own words, and 12 "Scatter!" cards.
Shuffle cards and place in a jar or pile where all players can reach.
On your turn, draw a card and read the word on it. If you read it correctly, you get to keep the card, and the next player goes.
If you draw a “Scatter!” card, put all of your cards back into the draw pile. After a “Scatter!” card is pulled, it is removed from play.
The player with the most cards at the end of the game wins.
