This is an of carefully crafted workout and training plans for coaching Cross Country. Every workout is designed with clear purpose, and makes good sense in the scope of each week's training and the season as a whole. Workouts are broken down by segment, clearly outlined, and differentiated for different skill level runners.
As a former captain of the Drew University Cross Country team, I thoroughly enjoy coaching the sport at the high school level, and have a real passion for fitness and training still today.
By implementing these originally created workout plans, I was able to lead my runners to see vast improvements throughout the season. Workouts begin with volume and distance as the main focuses early on, and slowly transition to detailed interval training and speed work in preparation for performing at the highest possible levels in the latter stages of the season and in championship meets.
The main philosophy of these workout plans is to keep runners healthy, hungry, and peaking at the right time.
