This full lesson plan is one that is based around the idea of Crossfit exercises, but is used in manner that can incorporate regular classroom subjects if you want to impress your administrators. This lesson will give you some ideas how to setup and implement a crossfit routine for grades K-12. The beauty of this lesson is that you can use any exercise or skill you want to incorporate the routine into your lessons. The length of time can vary depending on how you want to use it. It’s also used for an entire class period or you can use parts of it for your warm-ups. The lesson plan has example exercise just in case you don’t want to come up with your own ideas. You can even have themes for your workouts during different days of the week. If you have a CD player you can use the routine with 30 second intervals and allow for breaks in between stations or skills. This activity can be used a progression by adding a skill or exercise each class to help build a program for an entire class. It can also be used for your classes when they first come in and need warmed up. There are endless possibilities with this crossfit lesson – whether it be using it solely for warming up, cooling down, as a cross-curricular type lesson, and finally used as a different way to incorporate your skills while maintaining a certain heart rate. This ideas are endless, it just depends on how creative you want to be with the lesson. There are Exercises dealing with push and pull motions as well as endurance, legs and core exercises. Try this lesson plan if you are looking for different ways to get your class moving. This lesson can be also used for a sports program in training by using certain areas to focus on the muscles and body parts pertaining to the sport you are involved with; so that you can help increase muscle and endurance. Don’t just limit yourself to what is offered in this lesson with the examples given, but come up with better ways to educate your students/athletes. Remember these are just guidelines; you can take the lesson to a whole new level depending on how creative you want to be. Enjoy!
