This activity/lesson can be used as a warm-up, cool-down, a main focus, or any other way you want to incorporate the activities. The activity/ lesson can be used for an entire class or you can choose to use parts of it. The activity/lesson focus is a variety of exercises including a warm-up, a routine, and a cool-down. This includes a 4 day exercise program which gives you examples of different exercises. You can choose the ones you want to use in your class or you can be creative and come up with your own exercises or skills to incorporate depending on what you are teaching at the time. The format is simple and easy to understand. You can modify it any way you want for particular classes and the beauty of this is that you can use it at any grade level K-12. It can be used at the lower levels using skills or basic exercises or at the higher levels for more intense workouts or skills. It’s recommended that you have a CD player for music, a timer, and you use whatever music is appropriate for your class. There are two ways to run the program – 1.) put a CD on and every minute the students will rotate to the next exercise or skill while trying to get as many repetitions in as possible with 15 seconds in between for breaks ( you determine how long you want it to go). Or 2.) – have the students do a set number of repetitions at each station and then move to the next activity with 15 seconds in between for breaks. You can come up with different themes for days of the week such as “tough man Tuesdays” and so forth. The basic principle in the activity/lesson is to give you some sort of layout on a crossfit type activity and you can use exercises or skills for this format. Enjoy the fun of high intensity workouts with no more than 15 sec. breaks. Change the workouts any way you want to fit the grade level you are teaching or the team you coach. This is a guideline to help you get started on making yourself and your students health better each day.
