Students will practice identifying dependent clauses and independent clauses, which will utimately enable them to write using complete sentences. Without full knowledge of clauses, students are not able to identify whether their sentences are complete or not, which leads to difficulty in their writing. This resource not only allows students to practice, but it uses a helpful analogy for identifying different clause types. Students in my own classroom have found this to be a very useful way to think about clauses. There are opportunities to extend this resource, and modify it in a variety of ways.
