Four Crucible review games in one! Students will review quotes, plot parts, literary elements, and historical context with these task cards that ask students to find the correct answers and unscramble secret phrases to escape the room. Each of the rooms can be used individually so you can use each of the four rooms on different days to expand the fun, or pick and choose which rooms you'll use.
Your download includes the following in .pdf form (cannot be edited)
► 48 task cards broken into four sections (12 cards for each of the following): quotes, plot parts, literary elements and historical context:
➢ 36 quotes (determine who said it) -- 3 quotes per card
➢ 36 plot part questions -- 3 questions per card
➢ 12 literary element quotes (determine the literary elements used) -- one quote per card
➢ 24 historical context questions -- 2 questions per card
► 20 optional risk/reward task cards
► links to four copyable Google forms for each of the four sections -- the Google forms can be edited should you wish to change the secret phrases
► teacher & student instructions for Google and non-Google facilitation, and a link to video instructions
► answer key for questions, codes and secret words if teacher-led
► teacher tips page
In the Google-led facilitation (a quicker version), students input answers into a Google Form and are automatically told if their code is correct for each card and awarded a letter toward the secret phrase. There are four separate Google forms for each of the four sections, meaning you can complete this in one class period or break it up into four separate review games.
In teacher-led facilitation (a lengthier version), teachers will check answers for students and award letters toward the secret phrase.
The length of time depends upon whether you allow students to use their books and/or notes, as well as if you use risk/reward cards. My students take about 45 minutes for each of the quotes, historical context and plot sections and 10-15 minutes for the literary elements section.
