I created this data sheet in order to gather information on a student who cried the majority of the time he was in my class. The student was severely disabled, non- ambulatory, with no functional communication. Using this data sheet I was able to determine the time of day crying typically occurred and what methods of interventions were successful. I divided the day into 15 minute intervals. Staff would checkmark if he was crying during that 15 minute interval. We would place a number that correlated with interventions that we attempted to sooth him during that time. This data sheet helped to establish possible likes/dislikes and the time of day he proved to me most successful at school.
