Earth Science – Minerals
This foldable for interactive notebooks is designed to give a basic overview of the crystal systems commonly found in minerals. These include the six basic (cubic (isometric), hexagonal, tetragonal, orthorhombic, monoclinic, and triclinic), and a seventh (trigonal, or rhombohedral), which is a subdivision of the hexagonal system. This is sometimes shown as its own group based on the differences in their appearance from the hexagonal crystals.
The foldable includes the name of each system, a diagram of each, along with representative minerals from each system. It contains a complete foldable and a blank that can be adapted to your own classroom needs. I use it before building crystal models.
