For this miniature project, students will use newspapers, magazines and internet clip art to make a collage about when they were young. It fascinates me how interested students are in talking about their childhood and, unbeknownst to them, they get to do a lot of good practice with the imperfect tense!
There are 7 topics that the students have to cover including what they used to like to do when they were younger and what music they liked. They write out their sentences and then find words and pictures to go along with their sentences. Then, they put the pictures and sentences on the construction paper in the form of a fun collage.
This works really well as a mini 2 day practice lesson or something that you can easily leave with a substitute teacher if you are going to be out.
