Get students talking about how many items are around them, in the school or in their backpacks.
Activity A: Teacher led activity to demonstrate how cuantos/cuantas is used. Teacher should ask class questions (possible questions provided in file) to get students identify objects and answering in complete Spanish sentences using expressions of "hay__ en la escuela"
Activity B: Students try answering questions about the classroom individually before sharing with a partner and finally discussing answers with a class.
Activity C: Students partner up (2 different times) and inquire about what is in their classmates' backpacks. ¿Qué hay en tu mochila?
Activity D: Students voice record a short summary of their findings from activity C and turn it in for speaking practice/ grade.
