This simulation activity is the perfect way for kids to learn about the Cuban Missile Crisis and have a lot of fun while doing it. One student plays the part of John F. Kennedy, while the other students are his advisors, trying to convince him to either choose an airstrike, invasion, blockade, or no retaliation in order to save the nation. This is learning by doing at its best, and my students have always really gotten excited about this activity. This lesson includes 8 pages of step-by-step instructions, detailed background information for the President's group, argument guidelines for the other four groups, and lecture notes. This is one activity that you definitely want to implement soon!
