This is an interactive lesson that begins by discussing the Cubist movement and its origins. It also includes some geometry and 2-d and 3-d discussion that can be expanded on easily.
The lesson plan is accompanied by a Google Slides presentation. It includes:
-Examples of Cubist art
-Tricks of the eye
-Spanish classical guitar music
-Video of a Spanish artist at work
-Instructions for the students to create their own Cubist self-portraits
The students feel pride in their work - especially because the 'weirder' they look, the better the outcome!
