Do you have students who need more visuals in the classroom in order to understand your requests? This cue cards pack of 44 individual picture and text visual cards
will help your students with autism or communication disorders/language delays communicate more effectively at school. I use these daily with students across the autism spectrum and have seen fantastic results!
These cards were purposely created in a simple format with basic, plain pictures in order to be as effective as possible for individuals with autism. Flashy pictures and backgrounds can be very distracting to individuals on the autism spectrum! They respond best to words or short phrases with a simple image correlated to the text. Do not use fancy fonts or elaborate clip art with your students with autism!
Print the attached pages. Cut out paper pages and then glue onto cardstock or construction paper. Then laminate, cut out and add a metal binder or plastic binding coming to the top of each card. Keep the cue card book in an accessible spot (I use the wipe off board ledge). The cards are effective for students with a wide range of communication abilities. Teachers can use all of the pages supplied or select pages that are most appropriate to use with their targeted students. These are helpful in the regular education classroom, inclusion room, self-contained classroom, at home or in the community.
