Based on Paso a Paso 2 Chapter 4 (or a similar section in Realidades), this sheet asks students to complete three tasks that all involve grouping vocabulary words.
Task 1: Consider pairs of words and decide how they are associated (what they have in common or how they are related).
Task 2: Group synonyms for fun, boring, and tolerable given a random list of synonyms. Then, group cultural leisure activities (checkers, parades, plays, picnics, etc) according to your personal opinion.
Task 3: Group cultural leisure activities according to where they might take place (chess, costume party, crossword puzzles, etc).
I used this with my 9-10th graders. For the first task, they easily understood that other students may come up with different connections between the words once it was explained. The last two grouping tasks were confusing to students. Some tried to use only the word bank for both tasks. Review the answer key beforehand so you can explain the expectations well.
