Product Description
I taught the cultural literacy of English Lit every year for a long time in order to teach my 10th graders about the history of literature. Then, when I was asked to teach 12th grade English, I decided to use a similar format for teaching them.

The difference here is that we discussed world literature and philosophy. These worksheets are in alphabetical order, but only cover the very beginning of the list.

Sample question: 12. What was Descartes able to prove (about himself) that could not be doubted?

If your library has the Dictionary of Cultural Literacy, it's a great tool to use. Just cover one entry a day. These 28 questions are from the World Literature section. They also could be used without the book in more of an online searching kind of way, though a few questions might need more explanation.
