PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Why do people need to escape from hard times?
During the era of the Great Depression and the New Deal, Americans needed a way to escape. Americans listened to the radio, went to the movies and read books. Many of the popular movies they watched was the "Wizard of Oz" which the students still know about today. This lesson includes a lesson plan (with standards) as well as notes and graphic organizers for different leveled students as well as a worksheet that gets the kids to understand how the characters of the Wizard of Oz represent historical events.
