PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The goal of the activity is to have the students arrange the cups in a pyramid. The bottom three cups have one solution. The two cups that make the middle row have no solution. The cup at the top is to be the system that has infinitely many solutions.
I have a class set of paper clips that have a one yard long string tied on. Each student is given one of these to use during the activity. One rubber band is given to a group. The students hook their paperclips on the rubber band. They then hold on to the ends of the string. Working together the students will manipulate the rubber band by pulling on the strings only, to pick up cups and stack them.

Materials Needed:
- 36 cups
- class set of paper clips with 1 yard of string tied on each
- six rubber bands.

The guide you are purchasing will have six sets of systems that will be writen on the above mentioned cups. The sheet can also be used as an answer key for the teacher to check different teams work during the activity.
