This activity requires some prep. You will need to make copies of the cupcake page, cut the cupcakes out, and cut the compound word cupcakes in half. Read below for how I use these materials.
I use this activity as a literacy station when teaching about compound words.
First, print 6 pages of the cupcakes page. All 6 pages should be different colors.
Next, laminate the pages for future use (if desired).
Third, cut the cupcakes out and in half.
Fourth, put in separate baggies for use in the literacy station.
*Make more or less that 6 sets of cupcakes depending on how many students will be rotating through literacy stations at one time.
Students will now be able to match the compound word cupcake halves and complete the accompanying worksheet.
