Cupcake Letters-Sounds Sweet Beginnings and Sweet Endings
This is a delicious, colorful, and inviting activity to use with a small group, one on one, or as a Word Work Center in a classroom.
This literacy center targets initial and final letters/sounds of words interesting to kindergarten and first graders.
Description: There are 14 pages of picture words with these categories: animals, toys, colors, insects, clothing, food, body parts, Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. These categories are interesting to kinders and firsties. They will be highly engaged and enjoying the picture words. This type of center increases receptive vocabulary too.
Students, using dry erase markers, write the initial and final consonant letters-sounds inside the boxes on the cupcakes.
Included with this center are 14 individual answer sheets for student checking and 2 pages with the answers listed for teacher use.
Directions: Copy on cardstock, laminate, and use the dry erase markers or put pages inside the plastic sleeves if you prefer.
