Who doesn’t love a yummy cupcake? Here are cute cupcakes for counting syllables. Each card has a cupcake, a word and 3 numbered icing puffs. The student says the word aloud and then circles the numbered icing puff (1, 2, or 3) with a dry erase marker to indicate the number of syllables. You can also make 2 copies of the cards and have the students play Memory while working on syllables.
These activities are not just for your auditory processing students but can be used with your articulation, language, voice and fluency students. You can use them for group therapy, individual sessions, classroom push-in or as an independent activity.
