"No monkeying around this month, get your month covered with this unit so you don't go bananas!"This is a must have unit for your kiddos, especially if your school follows the unique curriculum as this is a recommended supplemental reading for the month of September.
This unit is full of activities for articulation, language, requesting, commenting, and labeling goals as well as Wh questions, story elements, sequencing, and categorizing.
Starting out there is a 40 trials artic page where you can target language (requesting for color/dice), and articulation using all your artic cards and pages. My favorite component of this unit is the "school scoot" game that is basically a Curious George version of Candy Land that targets requesting, 2 part directions, commenting and turn taking. Then there is a story sequencing activity (2 different levels), and a story elements sort. Curious George coloring pages paired with a coloring page requesting communication board. There is a categorizing activity themed with nouns from the story (sorted by "person" "place" and "thing"). The same nouns can be paired with verbs on the next page using the communication support to create grammatically correct noun+verb phrases. Finally there are Wh- questions for almost every page of the book that can be read as comprehension following the story or during the story. On each page there is also a commenting support "I see___" with icons to choose from.
