This is a short current events lesson designed to create discussion about the spying conducted by the National Security Agency (NSA). Created on 29 October 2013, this lesson focuses on the spying conducted by the U.S. government against its European allies.
THIS DOWNLOAD INCLUDES
1) PowerPoint Slideshow -- includes a link to a video on background information to the scandal, a link to a news video, and it guides the teacher through the discussion.
2) Student Worksheet -- students answer the Who, What, Where, When, and Why questions, and they brainstorm reasons for why they believe the U.S. should or should not spy on its allies. This information can then be used to spark discussion and debate.
