Students will work with their teammates to analyze an assigned science article. They will read the article together and use the provided copy to highlight, underline, and make notes. They will discuss the article as a team and fill out the attached organizer. After completing the organizer they will create a visual representation of the article to use while presenting their finding to the class.
The attached organizer can be used for any science article. It will have students record basic information on the article, summarize the article by identifying key concepts, vocabulary and facts, include personal reflections and apply how it is relevant today. Groups will create two discussion questions for a class discussion after the article has been presented to the whole class.
The attached file includes the group organizer as well as an individual one and an editable version. This activity is intended to be done as a group but can be done individually. The editable version will allow you to tailor the activity to you class.
