Just because you're teaching Spanish doesn't mean you can't talk about current events going on in the world. It's just...well...you do them IN SPANISH. :) Choosing as much Spanish you would like to use.
Teaching and informing the students about current events is an excellent way to tie in real life connections & one of the best listening practices we can do.
This sheet (along with the teacher's guide to use the sheet) will help create accountability among every student to be an active participant in your current event discussion. The teacher will act as the facilitator and guide, but students will also be able to share their opinions and knowledge as well.
It's easy: pick out a topic, do a little research, have your resources ready, and discuss in class (use ALL spanish, a little Spanish, or a mix - decide with what level you teach).
After the discussion, have your students fill out the sheet to express their thoughts, feelings, solutions, and share a few facts they learned. They also can answer a few questions about at the end to decide what they will do with this information.
I like to print a BUNCH of these out and have them ready to go in a file cabinet. The kids HIGHLY enjoy when we do our Tema Caliente and it's easy prep for me!
Buy this one sheet from me along with the Teacher's Guide that comes with the sheet) and have numerous lesson activities.
