This product was created as a way to track progress through curriculum based assessments. Choose your own way to measure how many words per minute your student is reading. I have been using Dibels, but there are many other ways to track.
In my sessions, we first read the story (cold read) and track correct words per minute. We then do an error word flashcards intervention. I have my student write his error words on the Mixed Up Burgers worksheet while I create flashcards on the tomatoes. Remember to add in words that the student did read correctly to boost their confidence. We go through our flashcards until he gets all of the words correct twice. We then reread the story (hot read) and record correct words per minute again. Together we then graph our progress on the Mustard and Ketchup graphs. This helps to keep my student involved in the process and he gets to see the progress that he is making. These graphs can be used as bar graphs or line graphs.
As always, as you are working with my products, feel free to put your own spin on it. If you do, let me know in the comments section what you are doing!
