The Curriculum Framework Workbook is a set of student-friendly graphic organizers based on the College Board's Curriculum Framework
for AP US History. Each of the Curriculum Framework statements is printed within a chart that includes 3-5 specific historical examples that illustrate the theme of the statement. The charts include links to concise, reputable, academic online sources that students can use to find information about the illustrative examples. Synthesis charts are also included for each period that address historical thinking skills such as causation, comparison, and continuity and change over time.
The workbook can be used as throughout units as a guided reading tool or note-taking tool, at the end of units as a review activity, or at the end of the year as an AP test review activity. The purchase of the workbook includes a non-editable PDF file and an editable Microsoft Publisher file (in case you would like to add textbook pages for your students to reference, or change the illustrative examples). This is a great supplement for a less-than-perfectly-aligned textbook, or could be very helpful for a new AP teacher who is unsure about which illustrative examples to teach for each concept.
I have chosen not to publish a key for this workbook as these things have a tendency to make it online in some form or fashion, and my very resourceful students are great at finding them. This workbook is a big part of my class and I really, really don’t want my students to find a way around doing it. I would like to politely ask that other teachers please refrain from posting keys online as well.
