This is the Excel version so that you can type in your curriculum and save from year to year. (You can instead download the PDF version for free from my TPT store if you'd rather print & pencil in your planning.)
This is a perfect tool for planning a year of curriculum at a glance. The first page is a blank one, and the 2nd is an example of what it would look like with dates filled in for the year 2015 in my school district.
I usually use one per subject, and type or pencil in a summary for each week. For example, on my ELA Curriculum Map I add in the main story of the week, comprehension skill, spelling focus, grammar lesson, and poem of the week. For math, I always make a note of quarterly benchmark deadlines, and which weeks I will be teaching each chapter or unit. I print a third one to plan for and keep track of writing or journal topics. You could also use it to plan for weekly centers. Now when you come across a great activity or lesson idea, you can have a place to record WHEN you are going to actually USE it!
