Cursive Writing Introduction
This is a complete introduction to cursive letter formation. This program ensures that each letter is formed properly with the correct beginning stroke. The cursive letters are grouped in stroke order so that whenever possible students have multiple chances to practice a type of stroke before moving on to the next one.
At the top of each section you will find a sample letter with arrows showing the correct stroke order to create the letter. (See preview)
Some letters change their formation depending on what letter comes before. For example the letter “a” in "act" begins on the middle line while the letter "a" in "cat" begins on the bottom line. For letters such as these I have provided practice for both formations.
Students don’t have to wait to begin writing words until they know all the letters. With this program students begin forming words from the very first page, using only letters that they have already learned.
Each page also includes a sentence or two of cursive reading practice. The reading practice sentences use mostly letters that students have already learned so that they can begin to develop fluency in reading as well as writing cursive.
