This packet is a great way for your students to practice their cursive handwriting while still having the opportunity to also learn about important qualities such as honesty, perseverance, bravery, self-control and kindness. Learning to write in cursive takes lots of practice, and this takes time. It’s often time that you don’t have in your already-packed, busy days. I’ve always loved quotes, and the walls of my classroom are filled with inspiring, thought-provoking ones. In trying to make the best use of my time, I decided to use quotes for my students to practice their cursive writing. Opportunities often arise to discuss the meaning of the quote or the truths and wisdom that lie beyond the words on the paper. It's a way to add some meaning into an otherwise mindless activity. We all need opportunities to squeeze every moment out of our time with students!
Included in this packet…
1. Two copies each of 35 famous, inspiring quotes written in cursive, both in color and black and white
2. Think and Write worksheet: gives students the important opportunity to write their thoughts about a quote (in color and black and white)
3. Five cursive posters to hang in your classroom (in color)
Ways to use these quotes:
-Copy the black and white pages for students to use individually or in a booklet
-Print the color copies on cardstock and laminate. Create a book for students to use in centers or stations with a dry erase marker.
