With Fall and Halloween just around the corner, don't let cursive scare your students away into hiding! Third and Fourth Grade Common Core Standards specifically mention that students need to be able to write legibly in cursive. Cursive is often a standard that gets put off on the back burner, as it is not often tested as part of end of the year summative assessments. “Cursive Monsters” are a great way to make sure that your students can legibly write their name in cursive, while making a craft at the same time! Students practice identifying unique adjectives to describe different monsters. Students are also taken through the writing process to create narratives about their monster, including dialogue!
