Create clear communication and accountability for job performance with your custodial staff. These editable checklists created using tables in Microsoft Word provide listings of expected duties for various areas of the building as well as spaces where custodial staff can initial when duties are completed. These sheets work well when placed on clipboards and hung in the custodial office area to enhance communication of duties completed between day and evening staff. I would suggest that custodial staff turn these in weekly to principals or supervisors who will then sign off on the completion of those duties. This provides excellent documentation for evaluations or improvement plans. Be sure to note the text in blue on these documents, as these item may need to be changed to meet your personal needs.
