In this game students will build equivalent measurements in customary capacity on a balance scale. Students can self-check their equivalent measurements by laying the pieces on top of each other. The activity is differentiated with three possible student recording sheets:
Option 1: Students spin a measurement and build and equivalent measurement.
Option 2: Students multiply the initial measurement to get a larger measurement and then build an equivalent measurement. Equivalent measurements do not all have to be the same form. For instance, students could create an equivalent measurement that combines cups and quarts.
Option 3: Students spin the spinner twice to get two different measurements and combine them prior to building an equivalent measurement.
