This BINGO game involves converting customary (standard) units of measrue. There are 36 different problems to convert. Each of the 25 game boards have the answers randomly placed on them, so no two game boards are the same.
This is a great activity to show customary conversion fluency, or as a checkpoint for CCSS 5.MD.1. Students must know the customary conversions for length, weight, and capacity in order to play the game.
I usually give my students a small cup with some Skittles or Smarties to use are the game markers. I also give them a FREE space of their choice. I have a small prize for the first person who gets a BINGO. If time allows, we will keep playing until more have filled their game board.
I am in the habit of having my students work out their problems on their individual white boards during games so they all have to work the problems instead of wait for answer to be given to them.
