Mix it up a little and have some fun reviewing your measurement unit with this “print and go” scavenger hunt. Play some fast tempo music or set the timer to get kids pumped up for the challenge. Post the Customary and Metric Units of Measure task cards around the room or hide them to increase the challenge. Either way, students will have fun while solving these problems as an end-of-unit review. Customary and Metric Measurement Scavenger Hunt was developed with sixth graders in mind; however, this could be used for your higher level fifth-grade students who need a challenge or your lower level seventh-grade students needing a review. Through this activity, students will practice: (1) change between customary units of length, capacity, and weight (2) compute with measures that involve different units (3) convert between customary and metric units of measure, and (4) explore perimeter and area of a rectangle and a square.
