Students, especially younger ones, have a difficult time visualizing different units of measurements.
This is a reference chart that displays common objects' lengths, weights, and capacities to use for comparisons. One page is customary units of measurement (inch, foot, yard, mile, cup, pint, quart, gallon, ounce, pound, and ton), and the other side shows metric units of measurement (centimeter, decimeter, meter, kilometer, milliliter, liter, gram, and kilogram).
The top features the units as they compare to one another (e.g. 1 yard = 3 feet = 36 inches), and the bottom shows visual representations of 7-11 objects per category (Customary Length, Weight and Capacity; and Metric Length, Weight, and Capacity) and their corresponding measurement (e.g. paperclip = 1 gram, nickel = 5 grams, baseball = 145 grams).
