    I have been using math word problems as the BULK of my math instruction for over 10 years now...and I love it! My kids are NEVER bored with math because they get to be math detectives and solve math mysteries at least 3 times a week!

    This file is based off of the principles of Cognitively Guided math which you can read more about on the blog.

    I have found that using Cognitively Guided Math in my classroom through these daily word problems has GREATLY increased the math performance in my classroom. AND it is Common Core Aligned--big time! By doing a complete lesson outlined in this packet, you can cover almost all of your Operations and Algebraic Thinking Standards as well as your Number and Operations in Base Ten Standards for grades K-4.
