How Does it Work?
Nearly every school in the United States gives benchmark reading assessments throughout the year that measure student reading levels. These benchmarks are incredibly important in showing student growth. Getting students invested in their reading growth needs to happen at the beginning of the year.
Use these bookmarks to immediately show students how much you care about their success. Choose quotes based on student personalities. You can customize the bookmarks for students by filling in the blanks on the PPT file, you can print the PDF and handwrite in student information, or you can empower students by allowing them to create their own bookmarks. These bookmarks are appropriate for any grade level.
The bookmarks give students data points on their growth and allow them to answer the question, ‘what’s your why’? When a student can articulate what motivates him or her, you can reference this throughout the year to keep students motivated.
Students love knowing their teachers care about them and are invested in their success. Students treasure these bookmarks and hold onto them all year.
