This activity is intended for use after students have learned to convert between fractions, decimals and percents.
Students are given a list of 4 different rational numbers in a mix of fraction, decimal and percent form. They will cut them out and glue them to a worksheet in order from least to greatest. Students are given space under the list to provide an explanation for how they determined the order. They can explain their rationale in words or show the math.
I like this activity because students are able to physically move the numbers around to order them. I usually let them work with a partner. They can be used for stations, as well.
Each page has 4 sets of the same list for easy copying.
13 pages = 13 different sets of values to be ordered
The first 4 pages are familiar values for the beginner student
The next 4 pages are geared toward an intermediate level student
The last 5 pages have sets of values likely to be seen on an SOL test
