Cut, Paste, and Spell Book 1--Word Families
Perfect for morning work or literacy centers or seatwork!
Do you love picture sorting as much as I do? Do you wish your students could spell the pictures they are sorting? Well, they can with these developmentally appropriate pictures!
I LOVE picture sorting, but many picture sort books include any pictures that follow the pattern being sorted. However, I wanted my students to practice spelling as well. Students who need picture sorting are in the short vowel phase of spelling (letter name) and so all my pictures are short vowel words so that my students can have the extra practice of spelling the words after listening, and sorting.
Students cut out the pictures, sort and paste them on each side, then write the correct short vowel word on the line next to the picture.
I especially tried to compare voiced and unvoiced ending consonants so students could have extra practice in this area.
